Swap vs swap-free cost

Islamic accounts remove the overnight swap, but some brokers replace it with a fixed admin fee after a few nights. This calculator compares the two for a real trade.

Rates for pegged currencies are fixed. Edit the rate for others.

Swap vs swap-free cost

Standard account cost–
Islamic account cost–
Cheaper option–

How to use it

  1. Enter the lot size and how many nights you plan to hold the trade.
  2. Enter the swap per lot per night from your broker's specification (negative means you pay).
  3. Enter the Islamic account's admin fee and its fee-free nights, then compare the costs.

Questions, answered plainly.

Where do I find the swap rate?

In the contract specification of the symbol in MT4 or MT5, or on the broker's website.

Is a swap-free account always cheaper?

No. For long holds the admin fee can exceed the swap. For short holds inside the free nights it is cheaper.

Why is Wednesday's swap triple?

Standard accounts charge three nights on Wednesday to cover the weekend. Islamic accounts do not.
