Stop-loss distance
This calculator works backwards from the money you accept to lose: it gives the maximum stop distance in pips and the stop-loss price for your lot size.
Rates for pegged currencies are fixed. Edit the rate for others.

How to use it
- Enter the cash you are willing to lose on this trade and your lot size.
- Enter the pip value per lot, the entry price, the side and the pip size.
- Read the maximum stop distance and the price to place the stop at.
Questions, answered plainly.
Is a wider stop better?
A wider stop survives noise but needs a smaller lot size to keep the same cash risk. Place the stop where the idea is invalid, then size the trade.
What if the calculated stop is too tight for the market?
Reduce the lot size instead of moving the stop closer. The position size calculator does that for you.
Can I use it for gold?
Yes. Use 0.01 as the pip size and the point value per lot for XAU/USD.
