Gold shop price with making charge
Gold shops in the Arab world quote a gram price plus a making charge (مصنعية) and, in some countries, VAT. This calculator rebuilds the fair price from the international spot price so you can see what the shop's premium really is.

Questions, answered plainly.
What is a normal making charge?
It varies by design and country; simple bars and coins carry the least, intricate jewellery the most. Compare two shops for the same karat and weight.
Is VAT charged on gold?
It depends on the country and on whether the piece is investment gold or jewellery. Enter 0 if your purchase is exempt.
Why does the gram price differ from the international price?
Local prices add making charges, dealer margins, VAT and the exchange rate. The metal value itself follows XAU/USD.
